Overview
The Rohida fort is located to the south of Bhor - a historical sansthan. It is popularly known as Vichitragad and Binicha killa. Reaching Pune, one can catch a ST going to bhor and then to Bazarwadi, which is hardly 4-5 km from Bhor. Rohida or Vichitragad is situated about 15 Km from Bhor village. It is one of the southmost forts in Pune district. Rohida is barren in Summer or Winter but With monsoon it is filled with lush green grass.Places of Interest
The top is quite barren and doesn't hold too many remnants. However, ancient Rohideshwar mandir, different styled bastions, water reservoirs is seeingRohida is famous for torrent wind !! If you haven't experienced the wind during monsoon months on Rohida fort then you don't know what it is !! Apart from this points of attraction are Rohideshwar Mandir, few big water tanks, Chor Darvaja, Buruj (bastion) on North East Face, Chuna grinding wheel.
History
Rohida was built during the reign of the Yadavas.Post 1656, this fort became a part of Shivaji Maharaja's Swarajya. In 1666, the Moghuls conquered the fort but could not hold it for long. On June 24, 1670, Shivaji Maharaj recaptured the fort.How to Reach
