Overview

Amba Ghat is situated on the Western Ghats of the Sahyadri Range and is the upcoming new Holiday Hill Station, clear and untouced from the heavy tourist traffic. It's serene and natural surroundings are a total de-stress zone. Filled with Flora and Fauna amidst the Dajipur Bison Sanctuary, Amba is a Bird Wathcer and trekkers delight. Deep in Historical importance are the forts of Shivaji - Panhala and Vishalgad.
Amba Ghat lies 65-70 kms from Kolhapur on the Kolhapur - Ratnagiri Highway. Amba Ghat is surrounded by rainforests and Bison Wildlife Sanctuary. The area is excellent for a nature centric getaway and bird watchers. Jeep Safaris in reserve forest around is possible. The road leading to Vishalgad / Pavankhind is densily forrested with plenty of wildlife, truly a trekkers paradise. Amba is the next Mahabaleshwar in the making and the best time to visit is between July to Feb.

Places of Interest

As it is on the Nothern Periphery of Dajipur Bison Sanctuary there are a lots of sightings of bisons, hornbills, peacocks, bramhini kites are regulars.
- Jungle safari - Bison is usually sighted.Other flora and fauna possible.
- Manoli Dam and its backwaters
- Wagh zara
- Gaondara fall is worth a visit during rainy season
- Sada is the highest point to see the valley.

Accommodation

Amba Ghat has a dozen odd resorts. Tarriff ranges from 700/- to 1200/-. Room service is minimal but the food is good. Jungle Resort Amba and Hornbill Resort are two simple options for stay here for a nature centric experience.
