Set over 7 hills, Lavasa calls itself “India’s first planned hill city”. I am sure it will live up to this when the project completes. Lavasa city is in the midst of many mountains and almost every part of Lavasa has its own lakeshore (dam backwaters).
Lavasa is a private, planned Hill Station city being built new Pune. Lavasa offers a vibrant, self-contained world which is part of 25,000* acres of land declared as Hill Station with an extensive Master Plan covering half that area. Places of Interest

Temghar Dam (enroute to Lavasa) - This is one of the 4 dams that provides water to the Pune city (khadakwasla, Panshet, Varasgaon & Temghar). The dam is under repair now however when full with water, it is a very beautiful sight.
View Points, Waterfalls (Seasonal) - Entire road passes through the hilly region so there are lots of view points and small waterfalls (seasonal) enroute before you enter Lavasa or on the 8 KM long stretch from the main gate to the promenede.
Lakeshore Water sports - There are watersports operational in Dasve dam from 10 - 5:30 PM (weather permitting). It is little expensive, but they have all state-of-the-art equipments in good condition like Jet Ski scooters, paddle boats, Kayak, inflatables, Bumber boats (dashing boats in limited area), cruise etc.
Waterfront & Promenade - made out of stone blocks with no vehicle movement and gives you a feel of visiting any european city. They are illuminated in the night which is a worth site to see. American diner restaurant, Apollo Pharmacy shop, Souvenier Shop and a retail shop are located on the waterfront.
For 30 min Paddle boat, it is Rs.100 p.p. where as for Jet ski it is Rs. 500 p.p for 15 minutes ride which is a thrilling experience.

How to Reach

Go to Chandni Chowk. Proceed towards Mulshi Dam. Once you climb down Pirangut ghat, you would start seeing big blue coloured signboards for Lavasa. After Pirangut, you have to take a left for Lavasa. Once on this road, you would cross Temghar dam. Keep going on this road until you see an arch on the right, which is the official entrance of lavasa. From this point, the road goes down to the dam and the city.
