This is a beautiful weekend picnic spot near Pune in Maharashtra situated on Ahmednagar-Pune highway near Shirur/Shikrapur, Ranjangaon Ganpati on the distance of 23 kms only. Today also in Morachi Chincholi one can find one can find lot of peacocks everywhere in this small village. Peacocks are like our neighbourhood friends from childhood. Every morning, when we open our doors, one can find peacocks roaming in warandas. Children here grow up with these beautiful creatures. All kids enjoy all natural resources, which on the path of 21st century, its getting very rare in cities to enjoy the freedom of fresh air and pollution free day. Morachi Chincholi is the heaven of greenery and the place where National bird, Peacock resides. One can see dancing peacocks only from June to August every year, One important thing, in winter season from November to February, you will not be able to see those beautiful feathers tail, as it get detached from Peacocks’ body. Its natural process.
There are various places with ethical and ancient values to visit and experience the real beauty of our antecedents construction. In Chincholi Morachi, There are multiple locations where our villagers resides like 'khatkali', 'Patil Mala', 'Thorle Mala', 'Mahanubhav wasti' & 'Khatkali wasti'. In Morachi Chincholi, there is majority of villagers named Nanekar along with that, Thopate, Dhumaal, Ukirde are also there, but they are few in numbers.
Don't expect Morachi to be a 'One Day in the Life of an Indian Village' experience. It's quite rural village; not the resort, albeit lots of fun and activities. Carry a pack of cards and some board games and get ready to have fun like a bunch of children in their children's park. If you go on days that are bright and sunny, don't expect to see too many peacocks; so if you want to see peacocks, go on cloudy and rainy days. Several websites claim there are around 2000 of these magnificent birds but don't expect to see more than 3-4 of them and 5-6 hens at a time and not more than 20 a day.
